This is a cool gadget to have if you have a pool that you need to monitor temperature from time to time. The floating sensor can be tossed onto the pool & the console can be kept indoors for not only monitoring the pool temperature but also has capability to monitor indoor temperature on the console.
The Console uses 3x AAA batteries while the floating sensor uses 4x AAA batteries (Not included) the floating sensor also has a Solar panel that provides additional power during the day so that outside sensor's battery consumption can be minimized. The Pool sensor also has a LCD display that shows the current temperature of the pool. It is better than putting your feet down to feel the temperature :)
The unit keeps polling the outside sensor every 60 secs and updates the temperature on the console. I did not see it lose connectivity for past 2 weeks and still going steady and accurate to +/- 1 degree accuracy which is fair considering various factors.
For the price you get both the console and one pool sensor as part of the package which I think is fairly priced. I do not have any longevity report since I have owned it only for 2 weeks but the build quality seems good for the price. If I see any other issues I will revise my review, Currently as it stands I can rate this with four stars!
