SanDisk Cruzer Orbit 32 GB USB Flash Drive was tested and some benchmark was done. I did notice that this USB Flash Drive had better than average file read speeds but poor write speeds.
READ (Very good)
READ (Very good)
- Minimum 25.1 MB/s
- Maximum 27.9 MB.s
- Average 27.6 MB/s
- Access 1.15 ms
Write (Very poor)
- Average 2.5 MB/s
Most of the USB based Flash disk drives perform about the same but I have gotten better write speeds from other USB sticks before. I have posted the HDTUNE application benchmark images on Amazon (See the product image gallery)
Having said, The construction is all plastic which houses the chip making this USB stick prone to accidental damage. The design may prove useful to attach it to a key chain providing a secure feeling but because of the plastic construction I am afraid that it will break easily. The metal protector has tendency to come loose eventually and expose the plastic connector that plugs into USB port.
In the end for the money it is probably just 'OKAY' for 32GB capacity but do not count on this 360 degree orbital contraption to last very long. There are definitely other better alternatives out there when it comes to Flash based USB sticks in this category.
Try these alternatives:
Regular size: SanDisk Cruzer 32 GB USB Flash Drive (SDCZ36-032G-AFFP)
OR Kingston Digital DataTraveler - 32 GB Flash Drive
Sub compact : SanDisk Cruzer Fit CZ33 32GB USB Flash Drive (SDCZ33-032G-B35)
