Belkin ChargeSync Express Dock for iPad, iPhone, and iPod

Ever since apple introduced the 'Lightning' connector for new apple devices going forward has put most of the apple accessories manufacturers (Belkin included) into great engineering challenges. Why? because the Lightning connector is so tiny and fragile. It is very picky when it comes to connection. While this interface might just work great for syncing and charging newer Apple devices using Apple included cable but when it comes to docking stations this poses a serious challenge to dock especially if you have your favorite cover or customized enclosure for your Apple device.

Belkin has done their best effort in trying to make this product work with or without case for various Apple devices that use Lightning connector but it is more of Lightning connector's fragile design fault rather than this product's fault. I have not come across any other manufacturer who could have done it better.

Having said, This docking station is built strong. It is aesthetically very pleasing. It looks modern and blends well with Apple devices. It has a heavy base and holds even the bulky iPad perfectly. iPad Mini will be a perfect fit too. The adjustable dial for iPad works perfectly but I still would take it off the cover (No matter what) before docking.

Honestly speaking, This is as good as it gets when it comes to the 8-pin Lightning connector based docking stations. 4 stars from me for the honest effort by Belkin. IMHO, Apple should have kept the old 30-pin connector!
