This OCZ Storage Solutions Vector 180 Series 120GB capacity is a good performing drive with nice pricing that includes Shield Plus warranty plan to cover any issues that might arise with no shipping costs and no hassle in getting drive replaced. This is by far one of the best warranty plans on the market that I have come across so far.
The SDD incorporates Power Failure Management Plus (PFM+) This functionality protects the SSD in the event sudden power loss protecting your data. So in the end how well does it perform? - Surely better than your regular 7200RPM drive. Boot times are amazingly faster than traditional platter based drives thanks to Next generation 19nm MLC NAND chip. The real world performance is however not that fast as Samsung SSD PRO class which was expected but the price makes up for it.
The SSD also comes with an adapter that enables you to mount this in a regular desktop HDD slot. The only other drawback I could see is that the power consumption is slightly higher than other competitively priced SSDs on the market. If you are planning on using this SSD with the included desktop adapter then you will agree that the higher than normal idle power draw has no issues in a desktop. But for use in battery operated laptops I think there are clear advantage of using Samsung SSD drives. Overall a good performing drive worthy of 4 stars!
