USB disk support and 'OTG' in other words USB 'On-The-Go' features of Android OS technologies has been around for a while. But most manufacturers somehow or the other do not publicize this often or fail to implement this feature properly on their Android phones and tablets. Unfortunately most Android doesn't automatically mount USB drives by default. You'll need to either 'root' your device to enable support for USB drives or some lucky owners of existing Jelly Bean (4.x) and above Android tablets and phones might get lucky but IMHO still finicky at best - This is where the incompatibility & frustration comes.
This does not necessarily mean a product defect for those popular phones & tablets wherein this USB disk support or 'OTG' function does not seem to work as manufacturers tend to lure their customers into using their 'online' or 'cloud' services to get the similar results of 'OTG' or USB disk support. No offense here but most Amazon Kindle Fire devices I have tried so far does not function with 'OTG' and or USB disk support features and was seen NOT to work with SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive, 32GB (SDDD-032G-G46)
Having said, Popular third party Services like Dropbox can ultimately achieve same results but requires multiple geeky steps to upload your files from PC to cloud and fetch it back from the cloud onto your Android phone or tablet. Having said, Android OS & hardware manufacturers of tablets and phones are mostly 'undecided' whether or not to implement OTG or USB disk support especially for older generation of Android OS.
With this experience I can tell you that for most of the regular users might find themselves in the same situation as me (I consider myself quite well versed with Android) which does not necessarily mean this device from SanDisk is bad when using with Android OS but merely it is just because 'OTG' and or USB disk support features on Android OS is currently 'finicky' at best. This device had 'NO' issues when using under Windows PC or Mac computers.
My best advice to everyone would be to first check and make sure that your phone or tablet has 'USB' Micro-B port that is compatible with this SanDisk USB flash drive before purchasing it. Second, install an APP to see if your device has this feature enabled. A free app that is currently available on Google Play known as "USB OTG Checker" which quickly and effectively determines whether your Android phone or tablet supports 'USB OTG' feature. Then depending on OTG implementation on your device you might just get lucky to mount the SanDisk USB disk support.
If you get lucky you will find this device from SanDisk indispensable! Transferring files between PC and Android OS based phones and tablet will become super easy and fast. As far as me I found 'NONE' of my tablets that I currently own have supported this elusive 'USB disk support' feature. But Luckily my other Android phone from Motorola Droid RAZR M XT907 saw this SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive, 32GB (SDDD-032G-G46) stick without much of fuss after I installed ES File Explorer
Bottom-line: Excellent product design but check compatibility with your Android phone, phablet or tablet first before buying it!
