This is my first sonic electric toothbrush and I Love this electric toothbrush!. The product is priced correctly and works great. The rechargeable batteries lasts about 20 brushing sessions. Each brushing session lasting 2 mins. If you are new to Electric toothbrush technology then there is a new feature (Comes activated by default) that Philips calls it 'Easy-start' wherein it gently increases power over first 14 brushings to help you get used to the sonicare toothbrush. You can deactivate this easy-start feature by pressing the power on/off button for 2 seconds. You will hear a beep and the battery level indicator lights up yellow to indicate the easy-start feature has been deactivated.
To effectively use this product follow these guidelines:
To effectively use this product follow these guidelines:
- Wet the bristles and apply very small amount of toothpaste
- Place the toothbrush bristles against the teeth at a slight angle (45 degrees) pressing firmly so that it stays below the gumline keeping the center of the brush in contact with teeth at all times
- Ensure that the brush is inside your mouth before pressing power on/off button otherwise toothpaste will splatter everywhere!
- Gently keep the bristles placed on the teeth and under the gumline when brushing and do back and forth motion so that the bristles reaches between your teeth. Continue this operation for the whole cycle which lasts 2 mins
- After completing the cycle (The toothbrush stops automatically) you can spend some additional time brushing the chewing surface areas and you can also brush your tongue which I prefer by turning off the toothbrush.
The replacement brush heads should last more than 3 months of normal use and this model accepts all Philips Sonicare Snap-On Brush Heads (But Does not take e-Series Brush Heads) This toothbrush according to the manual states that it is safe to use with braces but the brush heads will wear out faster. It can also be used safely with dental restorations like filling and crowns. The included charger and toothbrush stand is dual voltage (100-240v) and you can keep your toothbrush on the stand to keep it fully charged. The charger is contact less (No wires) to your toothbrush like wireless charging seen on cellphones!
